X-Agent Destroy Monster Regimes is a multimedia performance work and web project made from remixed text and redactions from the Mueller Report.

Created by The Afield—a performance collaboration between visual artist/writer Anthony Hawley and violinist Rebecca Fischer—the project premieres October 23rd at Residency Unlimited in Brooklyn. In this time of global pandemic, urgent political upheaval, and deep historical reckoning, Destroy Monster Regimes explores issues of misinformation distribution, technocratic power and populism’s linguistic appeal to melodramatic narratives. At the heart of the work is a 12-part  libretto/graphic score using text and redacted shapes remixed from the first half of the Report. Each section comprises a different movement of the work, engaging eclectic genres, moods and modes. The live performance will feature several performers (including violist/vocalist Oriana Hawley and flutist/composer Ilaria Hawley), video projections, live and pre-recorded sound, and sculptural interventions, all flanked by over-sized pages from the libretto.

More information here.

Performances for small groups of socially-distanced audience members (8 people) will occur incrementally throughout the day for 25-30 minutes at a time until sundown.

Please reserve your in-person spot here.

Performances will also be streamed online throughout the day on the project’s web hub, launching the same day.

We hope you can join us virtually or in-person October 23!
