House Scarf

Here’s an announcement from VCS students Harris Bauer and Rachel Zaretsky about an exhibition they’ll be hosting this weekend, featuring work by fellow VCS student Conner Calhoun:

Hello friends!

We would like to invite you to our apartment for an installation of Conner Calhoun’s work through our first weekend residency. Conner will be living with us in our home for the duration of the residency to create an installation with special consideration of merging his world with ours, in our apartment, a former drywall showroom in the lower east side. We have given Conner free reign over our space, allowing it to become a shared home where his presence is a binding thread. Everything we own is considered the permanent collection that may be displayed or stored out of sight to build an environment for his work while maintaining the site’s primary function as a living space.

Please join us on the night of January 18th, 2014 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.

We hope to see you there!

Harris and Rachel

If you’re interested in checking out the show this Saturday, please RSVP to either harrisrosebauer@gmail.com or rachelzaretsky@gmail.com for the address and additional details.

I’ll be back in a few days with a follow-up post featuring images from the show.
