Here’s an announcement from VCS student Julianna Ham about an exhibition of her work this weekend here in NYC:

“Light Work,” a solo show by Julianna Ham will be on view from Saturday March 16th-Monday, March 18th at 8-Ball Community at 327 Canal St. Hours 12-6 on Sunday, and 12-2 on Monday.

The opening will be from 8PM to 12AM, and will feature local DJs Sharma, Linkz and Pedro from 9pm. A $5 donation is suggested, with all proceeds going to Make The Road New York, a community organizing group that provides legal, educational and survival services for immigrant communities in New York.

Julianna Ham is a second-year Visual & Critical Studies student. They draw often on their experiences being raised by working class immigrant parents to address disparity between artistic and occupational labour as well as an envisioning of future possibilities, both precarious and fruitful, for the working class.
