Recently, Gallery Henoch in Chelsea added several images of recent works by figurative painter Sharon Sprung to its web site. Among them are two paintings for which VCS student Marissa Leah was the model.

Sprung is a Brooklyn-based artist whose work has been exhibited in a large number of solo and group shows and featured in numerous art publications, including American Artist Magazine, International Artist Magazine, American Art Collector, and Fine Art Connoisseur. She teaches painting at the Art Students League of New York and The National Academy Museum and School of Fine Arts, both located in Manhattan.

Below are images of the paintings, courtesy of Gallery Henoch. You can also see them, along with more works by Sharon Sprung, at this page. (People interested in the process of painting from life should also check out this article at artistsnetwork.com. In addition to some quotes from Sprung about her art, it contains a sequence of nine images that show her executing a portrait from start to finish.)
