Earlier this week, the VCS and Art History Departments hired recent VCS graduate Justin Elm to be the new Systems Administrator for both programs. Here is the official announcement sent out yesterday by Chair Assistant Holly Warren:
We are pleased to announce the appointment of VCS 2011 alumnus Justin Elm as the new Systems Administrator for the Art History and Visual & Critical Studies Departments. As Systems Administrator, Justin will be in charge of all classroom hardware and software in the new 4th floor home of the VCS department and the additional Smart Rooms located in 133 W 21 Street. Justin will eventually have an office on the 6th floor of 133 W 21 ST. In the meantime, Justin can be found floating around the 4th floor.
Justin has been working at the West 14th Street Apple location for the past two years in the personal training, data transfer, and technical support departments. He is looking forward to delivering excellent service in his new position at SVA, and we are excited to have him in our department.
Regular readers of this blog will recognize Justin’s name. Last summer, several of his photos and videos were featured in a series of posts on the Spring 2010 VCS portfolio reviews (you can see them by scrolling down the page at this link). More recently, I posted a short essay that he wrote as part of my VCS Essay Workshop.
Justin will be a great addition to the program, and we’re all looking forward to having him on the staff.
