JinHee Kwak and Lisa Saeboe exhibit their work in the recent People’s Choice Grand Salon Show (also: an open call for the next exhibition)
Last Friday, VCS students JinHee Kwak and Lisa Saeboe had some of their recent work on display in the People’s Choice Grand Salon Show, a one-night exhibition at Greenpoint Gallery in which the public got to cast a vote to determine the best-in-show awardees. JinHee sent along a couple images of her and Lisa’s installations, which I’ve included below. (You can also see additional images of some of the works by JinHee and Lisa on the VCS Flickr page.)
JinHee also mentioned that the gallery is currently accepting submissions for Spring Fling Juried Salon Show, which will take place a week from today on March 27th. They’ll be accepting submissions until the 26th, and she thought it could be a good opportunity for more of our students to show their work, so I’m passing the news along. Here’s a little more information quoted from the call:

We’ve had several People’s Choice lately, so it’s time for our SPRING JURIED SALON SHOW! Mingle with fellow artists and a judge’s panel of artistic professionals at the most beloved independent art gallery in Brooklyn. Springtime is a booming time for selling work, so submit your best and price them to sell!
Best in Show wins $200 and a solo show! Runner Up winners will receive a slot in a group show with other Runner Up winners! We have two gallery floors and a stellar lineup of local bands and musicians sure to entertain. Submit today!
