ICYMI: VCS alumnae Ilana Kruger and Shellyne Rodriguez in the spring 2019 issue of Visual Arts Journal

Two of our alumni were featured in the spring 2019 issue of Visual Arts Journal, which came out late last semester. In case you missed it due to the year-end rush of finals, portfolio reviews, and/or thesis work, I’m posting a few scans from it here (you can also read the entire issue online at this link).

First up is a blurb from the magazine’s “What’s In Store” pages about Dripkit, an innovative single-use coffee brewing system created by Ilana Kruger (VCS class of 2013) and Kara Cohen. (For some information about how Dripkit works, check out this post from 2017.)

The issue also contained a four-page feature article about VCS alumna and faculty member Shellyne Rodriguez’s work as a teacher MoMA’s Night Studio program, an art instruction course for NYC residents who are working toward receiving their High School Equivalency Diplomas. (This post contains more information about the program, including an interview with Shellyne on the MoMA blog.)
