Highly recommended: Michael Lindgren’s Washington Post book review of “Painting With Bob Ross”

Yesterday, The Washington Post published a review of the book Painting With Bob Ross by writer Michael Lindgren. Some of you may have run into Mike around the VCS department; in addition to giving the occasional guest lecture on writing, publishing, and art history in some our courses (most notably my VCS third-year Art Writing elective and Amy Wilson’s Altered States art history class), he’s also served as copy editor for the VCS senior thesis papers for the last few years, and is a writing tutor for VCS.

In his review, Mike approached the book by trying to follow Ross’s instructions on how to paint a scene titled “Lakeside Path.” It’s a really fun read and I don’t want to spoil any of it, so I’m going to dispense with my usual practice of posting quotes and instead encourage everyone here to read the whole thing at The Washington Post.

You can also find a few more of Mike’s reviews and information about some of his other writings and projects on his website and in this portfolio on LinkedIn.
