Journalist David Dayen has been writing the essential coverage of the COVID-19 crisis through his daily “Unsanitized” briefings for The American Prospect. He has followed with a fine-toothed comb the healthcare crisis, the economic devastation, the political failures and the deeply unequal consequences of the fallout.
In this lecture, Dayen will analyze the main forces behind the COVID-19 disaster. He will review the major political developments thus far, and the winners and losers of the unfolding economic consequences. He will also suggest who should be held responsible and what we might expect. Presented by BFA Visual & Critical Studies & the Honors Program.
David Dayen is the executive editor of The American Prospect. He has just released a new book, Monopolized: Life in the Age of Corporate Power. His work has appeared in The Intercept, The New Republic, HuffPost, The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and more.
