A call for proposals for “We Love Decay,” the upcoming inaugural edition of a new VCS-sponsored performance series

The BFA Visual & Critical Studies department is seeking proposals for the inaugural edition of a new performance series to be housed in the Flatiron Project Space. The 2017 edition of the series will run from April 18th through the 22nd.

The goal of the series is to promote non-object based work and short-term, ephemeral installation. Readings and sound-based work is welcome, as are non-traditional approaches to the space. Duration may run from 15 minutes to overnight.

**The deadline for proposals is Wednesday, February 22nd (inclusive). ***

Proposals should include:
– a brief summary of the project (please include a proposed duration and any potential technical requirements)
– Current cv for the artist(s) involved

Proposals should be sent as a .pdf file to viscritfest@gmail.com. Any supporting images should be attached to the email alongside a list of images.

BFA and MFA students outside of the VCS department are encouraged to apply, as are faculty, and artists not associated with the School of Visual Arts.

The Flatiron Project Space is located at 133/141 West 21st Street. It has a street-facing window as well as two monitors, one towards the space and one towards the street. Documentation of previous installs can be found at vcs.sva.edu/flatiron-project-space/archive. Further technical questions can be directed at viscritfest@gmail.com.
