BFA Visual & Critical Studies presents a talk by Sean McCann, author and professor of English at Wesleyan University. Professor McCann will discuss the political and historical reasons why urban childhood and adolescence came to be seen as important policy issues in the 1940s, and the related professional and aesthetic reasons why artists became fascinated with stories and images of children in the city. The evening will conclude with a brief Q&A.
