Work by Peter Hristoff in “Home: Function / Dysfunction / Make Believe” at MMC’s Hewitt Gallery of Art through December 1st
A Turkish minder rug by VCS faculty member Peter Hristoff is among the works in the exhibition Home: Function / Dysfunction / Make Believe, on display through December 1st at Marymount Manhattan College’s Hewitt Gallery of Art. The following announcement from the MMC website provides more information about Home; you can also find a slideshow featuring this and other works from the show here.
Artists explore the meaning of personal and shared space in this exhibit in the Hewitt Gallery of Art.
Does home mean a hallowed inner sanctum, a spiritual retreat? Or is it fraught with economic, sociological, and psychological issues from cleanliness to physical abuse? Is it small, large, modest, elaborate, stable or mobile? —and what of those who have no home?
Curated by Hallie Cohen and Judy Mannarino
Exhibition dates: October 31 – December 1
Opening reception: Wednesday, November 2, 6–8pm; Hewitt Gallery of Art
