An open call for submissions to diSONARE magazine

We’ve received a call for submissions for an upcoming issue of diSONARE, the bilingual Spanish/English arts and literature magazine that was co-founded by VCS alumna Lucia Hinojosa back in 2014. The issue will deal with representations of sound on paper. Here’s the information:

OPEN CALL FOR WRITERS, POETS, AND VISUAL ARTISTS

The sixth edition of diSONARE wishes to put forth the varied ways in which sound is thought of and rendered on paper. We invite artists, poets, fiction, and non-fiction writers, to send proposals that focus on sound as theme, concept, or medium, that is encountered aurally, visually, phonetically, linguistically or silently in realms regarding thought and experience.

We encourage work that explores sound not only in-itself, but as a constituent: sound as a point of departure or arrival. Possible concepts to take into account: dissonance, resonance, phonograph, phonetics, audio-vision, language, echo, noise, silence, radio, static, harmony, listening, etc.

Please send all proposals to [email protected] by December 15th, 2016.
