Here’s an announcement from the VCS Field Trip Committee:
We are pleased to announce the Visual and Critical Studies Department’s first field trip of the year. On Saturday, October 5th, we will be going Apple/Pear Picking at Dubois Farms in Highland, NY! Last year, a group of about 20 students went upstate and had a wonderful experience. Come take part in this rare opportunity to escape from Manhattan for a day and roam about the woodlands. You will have the option to choose a 2lb. to 5lb. pound bag for your scavenging, which you may fill with as much or as little fruit as you’d like. Or, if you purchase two full half-bushel bags of apples, you will get the third for free.
Lunch will be included; the farm has a barbecue with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, apple cider, baked goods, and more.
We will meet out front of the 133/141 West 21st Building (where all VCS classes are located) at 10am — the farm is just under two hours away by bus. Seating is limited! If you are interested in attending, please stop by Bret’s office with a $20 deposit to reserve your seat, which will be returned to you on the bus.
See you soon!
This is the second time that VCS has gone to Dubois Farms. You can read the announcement for last year’s trip in this post from last October, and check out the farm at the link in the announcement above.
